BONDURANT, Wyo., Dec. 1, 2011…Winter vacationers yearning to see and experience what "getting away from it all" really means have new found options with the opening of Jackson Fork Ranch for the winter season. An easy to reach haven in the “middle of nowhere,” the Ranch is located 40 miles south of Jackson, Wyo., where regularly scheduled service on American, Delta, Frontier and United Airlines, among others, connect travelers from key markets across the U.S. Guests with more time and looking for some scenic, road trip bonding also have the option of doing the 4-hour drive from Salt Lake City.

Recreational Wonderland
Offering a year round and winter recreational wonderland that includes a myriad of creature comforts at the welcoming and well adorned lodge, Nordic enthusiasts are free to explore the more than 20km of groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing or venture to nearby Wind River Range to access an additional 60km of marked trails that promise unmatched views of the highest peaks and alpine glaciers in Wyoming. There is also the option of heading up to Jackson for a guided cross-country ski tour of Grand Teton National Park or for downhill ski and riding enthusiasts, a day at the famed Jackson Hole Ski Resort.

Snowmobilers will delight in the thousands of acres of National Forest wilderness that surround the Ranch. Specially designated areas for Nordic sports and snowmobiling help keep peace among human powered and motorized enthusiasts.

Guided and unguided trips, as well as rental equipment for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling can be arranged directly with the Ranch staff or guests can bring their own equipment.

Creature Comforts
Inside, creature comforts await, from the intimate lodge and luxurious oversized beds with European-style comforters to roaring fires, outdoor hot tub, comfy robes and indulgent, contemporary western-style cuisine, all served up with a good dose of Western hospitality.

Wildlife Viewing
The Ranch is also the winter home to moose, elk, mule deer, bison and pronghorn, while the surrounding public lands offer extensive wildlife and spectacular scenery. Guests casting an eye skyward are also likely to see bald eagles floating above the valley floor in search of their next meal. For an up-close and personal connection, guests can go out with the Ranch’s wranglers ranch on a wagon full of hay bales to feed the herd of over 250+ bison. It’s pitchforks, fun and lasting memories.
