For those who would like to wade fish as part of the day, but do not own waders, we have waders and boot packages that rent at $25/day. We encourage guests to bring their own rods and fly patterns, but our guides will "fill in the gaps" as part of your trip fare. | Fly Fishing: | A typical fly-fishing day with us involves a mixture of tactics based on the classic "greased line" method. We cross current cast, mend and swing the fly downstream through targeted water to produce that "grab and run" hit made famous by Pacific steelhead. We also team fish the swinging fly with extended drifts using boat movement. We quietly walk the boat alongside holding water while you cast from stable boat decks. We cast dries to undercuts and pockets, and we swing waking patterns across glides. We also dead drift nymphs under indicators in the cooler Winter water temperatures...but you will NOT spend your entire day watching a "bobber" while fly-fishing the Klamath or Trinity in the Fall, since our emphasis is on the "tight line take" from a swung fly. It is important when you book with us to tell us what level of activity you prefer. Aggressive wade fishermen and Spey casters will be taken to different water than those wanting a more relaxing day casting entirely from the boat. We recommend our July and September clients to consider the Lower Klamath below Weitchpec for a steelhead "spey" day. Come and try our spey rods if you want to see how it feels. We target Steelhead and Salmon using traditional swung fly tactics. Our guide service is packaged with lodging and upscale meals to make your experience pleasant and easy to plan. |

| Kids' Program: | At Marble Mountain Ranch we try to encourage whole family participation in most of our scheduled activities. However, our advanced rides, intermediate rafting, and shotgun experiences must obviously be reserved for guests with maturity and sufficiently large bodies to do the job safely. During the more challenging events that are not suited to younger children, the youth program provides instructional riding and shooting events that mirror the adult itinerary. Novice riders or youth that are 5 and older that may join our wrangling staff for private riding lessons in our arena and may join the shooting events with .22 caliber and air rifle options. We find that most youth 5 and older are capable of joining our regular Klamath River rafting trips with the rest of the family. During our ranch BUCKAROO PROGRAM, youth aged 3 and 4 participate with our counselor-wranglers in their own age appropriate activities. Your buckaroo will join in feeding our small animals, swimming, nature walks, ranch arts and crafts and more. Youth Program ($1250/youth 5 and older - scheduled to mirror the adult itinerary) Arena riding lessons with basic horsemanship training On-ranch - level trail rides Class II - III rafting/kayaking with creek hike and river games Shooting safety and instruction based on air rifles and .22 rifles Buckaroo Program ($675/Participating Buckaroo 3 or 4 years - separate from the adult itinerary) Playing with the kittens, bunnies, and goats Collecting the chicken eggs and feeding the animals Group nature hikes Fishing/canoeing on the ranch pond Swimming at the pool Picnics & campfire sing-a longs Treasure hunts and orienteering Ranch crafts such as weaving lavender wands, collecting blackberries and fruits Authentic Pioneer games. Our Buckaroo & Youth Programs are designed for participating children visiting with a paid fare. Baby-sitting for infants and toddlers, who are joining us with a free fare, can be arranged at a $15/hour/one child and $18/hour/ two children. Before any younger children can ride outside the arena, they must be able to safely control their horse on the trail. The child's size, strength, coordination, skill and demeanor on horseback are all considered. Children who are not ready to trail ride off the ranch property will ride with a wrangler/counselor in the arena and/or on the ranch property while parents are on the more difficult trails. Sorry, riding "double" is dangerous, and is not permitted. All minors under the age of 18 will be required to wear a riding helmet during horse events. |
| Food/Dining: | During our peak season, all ranch guests share home-style meals with other guests, family, and staff, in our dining lodge. Meals are bountiful as well as eye-pleasing. We serve home-baked breads and deserts, salads, and vegetables fresh from our own garden, and select meats smoked and roasted over native hardwoods. Adventure seeking may be what originally brings you to Marble Mountain Ranch, but our meals will be a surprising highlight that will bring you back again.
